Red Pitaya is a hardware board with a size slightly larger than a credit card, designed to be used as a measurement and control instrument. It can be accessed through ethernet, and it is devised to be used with a web browser as interface. For the capture and generation of signals, both high and low speed ADCs and DACs are included, which allow its interaction with the environment in lots of applications, with SMA-F standard connectors. On the other hand, it includes a dual-core ARM which allows to run a version of Linux operating system for the management of all the system, and also includes a high performance FPGA with which the more demanding digital signal processing is performed. Finally, an environment for the development of your own applications is provided, what turns it into a very versatile platform. When we connect through the WEB browser to the URL or IP of the board, we can see a list of the pre-installed applications that can turn Red Pitaya into many different test and measurement instruments (waveform generator, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and more). Users can even install other applications developed by other members of the community from the online marketplace.
