Compact, FPGA-based, and software-defined instrumentation is fundamentally changing how engineers and researchers approach modern test and measurement. From quantum computing and photonics to aerospace and space-based experiments, the combination of FPGA programmability, edge processing, modular hardware, and open software enables research teams to build more adaptable, scalable, and cost-effective measurement systems.
